Pine Street School is an international school with over 20 countries and 15 languages represented. We believe that fluency in more than one language is not only a cognitive advantage, but the key to becoming a collaborative world citizen.

Research demonstrates that becoming multilingual boosts cognitive function, increases IQ, sharpens perception, improves memory, hones problem-solving skills, raises test scores for standardized exams like ACT and SAT, creates better negotiators, and strengthens critical thinking. But now, research also suggests that mastering two languages can fundamentally alter the structure of your brain, rewiring it to work differently than the brains of those who only speak one language because it makes successful multitasking a natural habit.

Dual language is a highly effective yet nurturing approach to developing language fluency. Our expectation is that children will develop total fluency by 5th grade and be able to move on to a fully Mandarin or Spanish education by Middle School if they choose.
