Yes! I would like to attend an upcoming event!

Pine Street School is pleased to host community workshops and events for parents on a variety of topics throughout the year. Workshops and events are open to current and incoming parents, as well as parents and educators in the community.

Learning Beautiful Training

Green Ivy Learning is an official training partner of Learning Beautiful. Together, we offer an in-depth training for the Learning Beautiful materials, led by Montessori teachers who use these materials in their classrooms at Battery Park Montessori School in New York City. If you are thinking about purchasing Learning Beautiful materials, or already have them in your classroom, this training will support you with the in-depth knowledge to succeed with this exciting new content.

Pine Street School Open House

Our Open Houses offer you an opportunity to mingle with and get to know our talented teachers and ask them questions directly. This is a wonderful way to get to know our program in more depth and to address detailed questions about your child’s potential day-to-day experience. These events are also attended by Head of School, Eileen Baker, and several of our current parents. We do not require Open Houses for applications, but many parents find them helpful in making an informed choice to enroll at Pine Street School.

Approaches to Learning Workshop

Approaches to Learning (ATL) are an integral part of an IB education and complement the learner profile, knowledge, conceptual understanding and inquiry. These skills are grounded in the belief that learning how to learn is fundamental to a student’s education.

Five categories of interrelated skills aim to support students of all ages to become self-regulated learners who know how to ask good questions, set effective goals, and pursue their aspirations with the determination to achieve them. These skills also help to support students’ sense of agency, encouraging them to see their learning as an active and dynamic process.

Come and listen as our PYP Coordinator, Jefferson Smith explains the changes in the Approaches to Learning and how we are facilitating their development at Pine Street School.
