Free Public COVID-Related Parenting Workshops
Parenting is challenging in a normal context, but quarantine and social distancing present exponentially greater challenges, particularly for families who must share close quarters, work remotely, and/or support more than one child in their schooling and virtual social experience.
Green Ivy Schools is pleased to offer a weekly series of free parenting workshops in child psychology, sleep management and occupational and physical therapy.
As an organization delivering a full schedule of live remote school programming for ages 2-12, we have discovered that problems associated with each of these areas can be resolved effectively and can not only enhance a child's remote learning experience, but can lead to long-term improvements in parenting and parent-child relationships.
From these Workshops you will learn:
- dozens of simple strategies for managing your child's behavior and that of siblings
- best kept secrets of occupational and physical therapists that are ideal for all children struggling with the physical and emotional impact of quarantine
- how to analyze the causes of your child's behavior and build preventive strategies
- how to build an optimal environment to support children as young as 2 in remote learning
- how to establish boundaries that support cohabitation in quarantine
- strategies for supporting healthy sleep routines for children of all ages
We have curated the city's experts in each field and are making them available to address your specific questions as you move through this experience with your children.
Each Workshop is live on Zoom and offers an interactive Q&A.
As the COVID situation evolves, we will modify our programming to reflect the needs and priorities of the moment.
