School Without Walls
New York City is one of the most dynamic and resource-rich settings in the world for education.
To that end we ensure that all of our of our students, from Kindergarten on, make weekly field trips to places of historic and academic value that add context and content to their units of study while bringing theory to life.
Local experts in fields from arts to engineering make classroom visits and host students in their workplaces to run skills workshops and help advance student-led projects. Individual passions are seeded and developed for each child as they come to understand how to navigate their city and primary research sources, in order to get the very best out of their surroundings.
One of our student’s favorite guest experts:
Victoria Sanchez-Lincoln, Fashion Director, Real Simple
Our students studied what people do for work and how systems function within a workplace. They had the opportunity to visit Time, Inc. and Pine Street School parent Victoria Sanchez-Lincoln, the Fashion Director at Real Simple.
Victoria gave the students a special tour. They learned how the departments work independently and together, and she gave guidance as students created their own unique magazine covers.
