Admissions for Preschool Ages 2-4
We believe the best way to truly understand Pine Street School is to experience it in person. Before beginning the admissions process, we warmly welcome you to tour our school, walk through our vibrant classrooms, and feel the joyful energy of our learning community. It’s a chance to see our mission in action and to imagine your child thriving here.
After your visit, we warmly invite you to submit an application to Pine Street School. You’ll receive a personalized link where you can tell us more about your child, your family, and what you’re hoping to find in a school community. This helps us get to know you better and begin building a meaningful connection from the very start.

There is a non-refundable $100 application fee due at the time of submission.
We’re excited to welcome your child for a classroom visit—an important and joyful step in the admissions process. During their time with us, your child will engage in hands-on activities, explore our learning environment, and may even play alongside current students.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know your child in a warm, nurturing setting—and for them to experience the magic of Pine Street School firsthand.

In some cases, we may also request an observation at your child’s current preschool to help us better understand their learning style and needs.
If your child has attended another preschool, we’ll ask for a few final pieces to help us complete their story. Depending on your child’s age, this may include documents such as transcripts or progress reports.

We’ll also request the name and contact information of your child’s current or former teacher. They’ll receive a warm and simple email with a secure link to complete a short recommendation form, which comes directly to us.

The final step in the admissions process is a parent meeting—an opportunity for us to connect with you more personally. During this conversation, we’ll talk about your child’s unique needs, explore how Pine Street School can best support their growth, and answer any remaining questions you may have.

After carefully reviewing all the information, our Admissions Committee will make a decision, and we’ll reach out to you personally with the exciting news. You’ll also receive an email with a link to your contract in the parent portal, where you can easily confirm your child’s spot at Pine Street School.

We’re so excited to welcome your child for a classroom visit—an important and joyful part of the admissions process.
During their full-day visit, your child will become part of one of our classrooms, participating in lessons, engaging in hands-on activities, and building connections with current students. We want them to truly experience what a day at Pine Street School feels like—joyful, challenging, and full of discovery.
As part of the day, your child will also meet with our guidance counselor for a friendly student interview and spend time completing MAP testing and a language assessment. These assessments help us better understand how your child learns, thinks, and applies knowledge, while also giving us a fuller picture of how we can support their transition to Pine Street School. If your child has recent MAP scores or other recent standardized testing results, families are welcome to share them instead.
We can’t wait to get to know them better—and for them to get a glimpse of the vibrant learning community that could soon be theirs.
As we get to know your child more deeply, we’ll ask for a few final pieces to help complete their story and support a thoughtful admissions decision:
