Amelia Xia

Mandarin Teacher

Amelia recently earned a certificate of TCSOL from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Montessori certificate from NAMC. She has taught elementary and preschool Mandarin in the United States for the past six years. As a trilingual educator, she spent four years in Spain teaching both Spanish and Mandarin.

Amelia holds a master’s degree in communication and culture from the University of Seville in Spain. She has traveled to numerous countries and believes in the ancient Chinese proverb “读万卷书不如行万里路” (read a thousand books, travel a thousand miles), as she sees education and travel as complementary, providing a clearer perspective of the world.

Her passion is working with children, who constantly remind her of how incredible and fascinating the world can be. Amelia enjoys observing the world through their eyes, which brings her happiness and optimism every day.

In her spare time, she enjoys family vacations, swimming, baking, and reading.
