Elizabeth Stoughton

Elementary Teacher

Elizabeth Stoughton brings a wealth of international experience to her role as an elementary teacher at Pine Street School. Originally from Connecticut, Elizabeth is thrilled to be returning to the USA after nearly 13 years living abroad. Since embarking on her teaching career in 2017, she has enriched her practice across diverse cultural landscapes in Vietnam, Thailand, Italy, Albania, and now New York City. Over the past five years, she has specialized in the Primary Years Programme (PYP), deeply valuing international mindedness both in and out of the classroom.

Elizabeth’s journey in education is rooted in a lifelong passion for learning and cultural exploration. With a Bachelor’s degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, and certification to teach in the United States, she has dedicated herself to growing and adapting her teaching methods to meet the needs of students from various backgrounds. Her commitment to fostering global perspectives and understanding in her students reflects her personal values and professional ethos.

At Pine Street School, Elizabeth is excited to continue her professional development and contribute to the school’s vibrant community. She is passionate about creating inclusive and engaging learning environments that celebrate diverse cultures and perspectives. When she’s not teaching, Elizabeth enjoys exploring New York City, discovering new cultures, and pursuing her interests in travel and lifelong learning.
