Lauren Angarola
Head of Middle School
Lauren Angarola brings a deep passion for adolescence as a pivotal stage of development and a strong commitment to cultivating globally minded learners. With an M.Ed in Educational Technology and a B.S. in History Teaching, she is a firm believer in the power of inquiry-based learning, design thinking, and the IB framework to inspire students to explore the world with curiosity, creativity, and compassion.
Since completing her student teaching in southern China in 2012, Lauren has taught and led in international schools in Shanghai and Dubai. She became an Apple Professional Learning Specialist in 2018 and an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2019, and was instrumental in leading her previous school to become an Apple Distinguished School the same year. She loves exploring emerging technologies and finding meaningful, student-centered ways to bring them into the classroom.
Lauren is especially passionate about educational travel and the “world as school” approach, helping students connect their learning to real-world global contexts. She also enjoys mentoring teachers and fostering a professional culture where educators feel confident and creative integrating technology into their practice.
Originally from Las Vegas, Lauren now calls New York City home. In her free time, she can be found reading, traveling, snow-skiing, chasing sunshine, and hunting down the best bites the city has to offer.
