Lucy Hao

Mandarin Teacher

Lucy Hao is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in early childhood and special education. She holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Touro College, as well as a master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Seton Hall University. Lucy holds professional certifications from New York State in Early Childhood (birth-2nd grade) and Special Education, and she also has a Certification of Eligibility for Teaching Chinese (K-12) from the State of New Jersey.

With 15 years of experience teaching in preschools, Lucy has worked with children aged 1 to 5 years old, specializing in working with 2-year-olds for the past 10 years. She has also taught after-school Mandarin classes for children aged 6 to 10 years old for 5 years. In her recent role as Early Childhood Director at Hudson Way Immersion School, Lucy has enjoyed creating preschool curricula, coaching teachers, managing daily operations, and co-directing student performances.

Lucy is a mother of three children, aged 14, 9, and 7, each with unique personalities, interests, and skills. Her experience as a mother has enriched her teaching approach, emphasizing the importance of individualized education to support each child’s growth and development. In her spare time, Lucy enjoys cooking, painting, making crafts, and swimming.
