Marcela O’Reilly Montoya

Spanish Teacher

Originally from Colombia, Marcela moved to the United States with her family, which brought her a deep love for language, culture, and education. As a native Spanish speaker and passionate educator, Marcela believes that language is a powerful way to explore the world and connect with others.

Marcela has been teaching for over 11 years in both International Baccalaureate (IB) and Montessori settings, working with children of various ages. Marcela truly enjoys being with children and believes they have so much to teach us through their curiosity and wonder. She holds a Spanish Education literature degree from CSI and  is certified in Latin American language Studies and Montessori Education.  Marcela is trained in IB education with expertise in high-level PYP categories.

In her free time, she enjoys reading Spanish literature, cooking, rollerblading, and dancing. Her favorite author and inspiration is Gabriel Garcia Marquez!
